Melania Trump didn’t immediately relocate to the White House after Donald Trump was inaugurated in 2017.
According to reports, Melania Trump waited until June that year to relocate to the White House with her son, Barron Trump. However, the POTUS was inaugurated in January 2017.
During a previous interview, the FLOTUS said that she waited for a couple of months so that Barron could finish the entire school year in New York City.
Melania Trump didn’t want to use the bathroom that the Obamas used at the White House
But in the book Melania and Me: The Rise and Fall of My Friendship With the First Lady, author Stephanie Winston Wolkoff said that the first lady refused to move to the White House immediately because of Barack Obama and Michelle Obama.
The author claimed that the FLOTUS refused to set foot in the White House until the bathroom and shower used by the Obamas were removed and renovated.
Barron Trump made Melania Trump frown during the POTUS’s inauguration
Years ago, the hashtag “Free Melania” also made headlines after the FLOTUS seemingly frowned while her husband was giving his inaugural speech.
But according to Wolkoff, Melania frowned because Barron accidentally kicked her on the ankle. The change in the FLOTUS’s facial expression led the public to speculate on her relationship with the POTUS.
Wolkoff reportedly asked Melania Trump if they should do some damage control, but she refused.
“I don’t owe them an explanation. Pleasing anyone else is not my priority,” she, reportedly, said.
The FLOTUS amended her prenup before moving to the White House
But in the book The Art of Her Deal: The Untold Story of Melania Trump, author Mary Jordan said that there was another reason why the FLOTUS delayed her arrival at the White House.
She, reportedly, needed time to cool off and amend her financial arrangement with her husband. After all, their original prenup wasn’t, reportedly, generous.
“She has been married to Trump longer than both his ex-wives and had bargaining power,” Jordan said.
However, a spokesperson for the FLOTUS immediately dismissed Jordan’s claims in her book.
“Yet another book about Mrs. Trump with false information and sources. This book belongs in the fiction genre,” Stephanie Grisham told CNN.
Barron Trump wasn’t raised by his mom alone
In Wolkoff’s book, she shared more anecdotes about Melania and Barron. She said that the first lady perpetuated the myth that she raised Barron by herself. However, she hired a nanny and asked her mom to help her take care of her son.
Melania Trump doesn’t also practice what she’s preaching against bullying. After all, when Barron pranked some of their staff, the FLOTUS laughed and thought her son was cute.
