Melania Trump in ‘transactional marriage’ with POTUS, former assistant claims

Melania Trump and Donald Trump’s marriage has been subjected to various rumors, and a former assistant and friend of the FLOTUS shared her thoughts about the first couple’s marriage calling it “transactional.”

Melania Trump and Stephanie Winston Wolkoff are reportedly closed because the latter used to work for the FLOTUS. However, they had a falling out, and Wolkoff ended up writing the book Melania and Me, which talked about the time she worked for the first lady and their friendship. Wolkoff is also not convinced of the Trumps’ marriage.

Melania Trump is allegedly in “transactional marriage”

BBC Newsnight interviewed Stephanie Winston Wolkoff. During the interview, she talked about the various reports about the FLOTUS and commented on the first couple’s marriage.

Melania Trump is an enigma, and she has a wall around her that’s impenetrable. She is mysterious to the world, Wolkoff said about the first lady per Express.

She also stressed that for the Trumps, the people’s perception is significant. BBC presenter Kirsty Wark reminded Wolkoff that she described Melania and Donald’s engagement as either a magic moment or making a deal. Wark proceeded by asking the author if the marriage was a transaction, and Wark felt that it was the case.

“I do believe it’s a transactional marriage,” she said.

Wolkoff explained “transactional marriage” opinion

The Melania and Me author believed that Donald and Melania Trump have a transactional marriage because she was a model, and he has the connection.

“Donald got arm candy, the Vogue cover legitimised Melania which legitimised Donald as well and Melania got two dynamic decades,” he explained.

“She was a young striving model, she didn’t have the success yet, she met Donald, she married, she had a son, she became an American citizen and then 10 years after that she’s the First Lady of the United States. I do believe there was a magic moment but I also believe it was a made for TV moment.”

Melania’s rep responds

Melania Trump’s chief of staff, Stephanie Grisham, had dismissed Stephanie Winston Wolkoff’s book when it was released. According to Grisham, the author’s friendship with Melania has been “overstated.”

Grisham also called the book “wildly self-aggrandizing” and “just not truthful” in a statement she emailed to USA Today. She said it twisted the truth and misguided blame for the sake of self-pity. She added that Wolkoff overstated her friendship with Melania and a brief role in the White House.
