‘Metal Gear Solid’ Remake rumored to come to PS5

It has been years since Konami released Metal Gear Solid and Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain. The next entry could be a remake of the original Metal Gear Solid.

Since series creator Hideo Kojima’s departure from Konami, fans are no longer sure of what’s next for the acclaimed Metal Gear Solid series. Now that the series is moving on without a captain, Konami’s next step is to instead remake the original game instead of creating a sequel.

Return to Shadow Moses

In the past week, there have been strong rumors about the first two Metal Gear games returning to the PC soon. That’s not the biggest surprise, though. In a video, RedGamingTech believes that the first game was going to release on the PlayStation 5 and PC in a remade form.

The YouTube channel says that the rumors have been confirmed and verified by two sources. The source also claims that the re-releases won’t be limited to the first two games as the third and fourth entries are going to be released as well. However, it will only be the first Metal Gear Solid that’s going to get remade. The others are going to get enhanced versions instead.

What is the game about?

The first game released on the PlayStation One, and it was the first 3D game in the series. It detailed Snake’s mission in Shadow Moses. It was one of the most acclaimed PlayStation One titles due to Hideo Kojima’s creative direction.

The game had a lot of amazing features. One of the most memorable is the boss fight against Psycho Mantis in which players had to take out their controller at one point and plug it in the player two sockets.

While this rumor is amazing, fans are concerned. A Metal Gear game without the genius of Hideo Kojima could utterly fail. It can even upset some die-hard fans.

Hideo Kojima left the company in 2015. He has since created Kojima Productions under the helm of Sony. It’s very unlikely that he’ll be returning for the re-releases due to how sour the relationship between him and the company has been.

The Metal Gear Solid remake is sure to excite fans of the original. Moreover, it will give those who missed out a chance to enjoy the original adventure of Snake. If the rumors are indeed true, then we could be seeing the game pretty soon or maybe even during the Tokyo Game Show.
