Michelle Obama spoke about her kids, and jokingly admitted that they were sick of each other because Sasha and Malia were itching to leave their home.
Michelle Obama got candid about parenting her two daughters Malia and Sasha. During her interview with Conan O’Brien, she spoke about having her two girls at home and how they were so eager to leave for school.
Michelle Obama and daughters sick of each other
Michelle Obama joined Conan O’Brien’s talk show, and they talked about living full time with her two daughters Malia, 22, and Sasha, 19. The former First Lady said they were excited to be at home together. But that was in the first stage of the lockdown. After several months the two who used to live away for college were itching to get back.
“Now, Conan, this was in the early stages. I think first our kids got a little sick of us, which was fine because we were pretty much sick of them…,” Michelle said, as quoted by Tatler.
“And now the kids are back in Zoom land classes. They’re doing it remotely. And they’re no longer thrilled about being with us.”
But in an Instagram Live, Michelle told Jennifer Lopez that she’s thankful that her daughters are staying put “even if they’re sick of me.”
How Michelle, Barack, and their kids bond
According to Michelle, they were very organized and would spend the days apart doing their respective work. At present, Malia and Sasha are doing their classes. They work and do a little exercise.
The family would come together in the evening and do some activities. They would have cocktails and work on puzzles or play games.
The former president, Barack Obama, also taught their girls how to play spades. The family also organized things, had an exhibit day and did watercolor paintings then showed it to each other.
Michelle allegedly felt cheated
Meanwhile, one tabloid claimed that Michelle Obama felt cheated when her husband Barack ran for president. However, the claims were not true.
In fact, the ex-FLOTUS was very supportive of her spouse when they were in the White House. In the finale of The Michelle Obama Podcast, she shared that she was very careful with her actions around Malia and Sasha when Barack was not around.
She didn’t want them to hate the presidency. She didn’t want them to feel their dad was always not around due to his responsibilities to the United States.
