The Together Mode in Microsoft Teams is at full pace, giving prominence to more features with every update. The latest update allows users to host meetings in coffee shops, conference halls, and small meeting rooms.
The Together Mode has continuously been under development since the COVID-19 global pandemic began. Having that said, Microsoft has succeeded in becoming one of the most used professional applications after the craze Zoom experienced.
Microsoft is working towards improving the custom layouts in the Teams application. The matter should completely change the way a user presents their content in a conference call.
With the new custom layouts, the feed’s video would be laid on top of a slide deck so that the participants don’t have to choose between watching the slides and the person talking.
According to a report by The Verge, Microsoft collaborated the technology used for Together Mode and Background Blur to achieve the new feature.
However, the virtual break-out rooms’ options will be available before the year ends. It would allow the team to split up in groups within the call, with the presenter jumping in and out of each group.
This feature is handy for educational purposes or virtual activities conducted by the HR Department.
Additionally, Microsoft collaborates with third-party applications to add their functionality seamlessly within the Teams application, making the said application more productive.
All of Microsoft Teams’ newest features and functions were made known during the Ignite 2020, Microsoft’s Digital event on September 22, 2020, to September 24, 2020.
As per CRN, Microsoft has added tons of security features to enhance the safety of the application and to allow the users to rely more on its functions.
With the new update, users can now add a layer of their encryption key over the already existing one by Microsoft. The said security update gives the users control over the application.
Also, Microsoft added features like secure delegation and alerts for device health monitoring to enable faster troubleshooting.
At the event, Microsoft showcased its unification for security solutions for both Microsoft 365 and Azure under the umbrella of Microsoft Defender. The new update is protection against phishing risks for Android and iOS users.
Undoubtedly, Microsoft is gaining its large populace from various alike-firms that offer almost the same services.
