Tezos-based NFTs will be used to publish Linkin Park frontman’s most recent music production.
Mike Shinoda, a Linkin Park founding member, has announced the release of a new music project called Ziggurats as a generative NFT series.
On Dec. 3, Tezos will release a collection of 5,000 small mixtapes.
Tezos will host a one-of-a-kind music project
Non-fungible tokens (NFTs) have long been hailed as having potential in the music industry, but no big project has yet to take advantage of the technology.
Shinoda, the current frontman, saw the potential of the technology and is planning to create his own NFT collection.
Songs with the same lyrics but different cover art and music will be featured in each NFT in the Ziggurats series. The fact that the series’ combination of music and art will be generated by a computer algorithm based on preselected inputs is what sets it apart.
Music and art
“I liked the idea of a program that combined and matched pieces to achieve a variety of outcomes,” he said, referring to creating one-of-a-kind collectible artifacts. “However, I wanted to do it through music,” Shinoda said on Discord.
As per XTZ.News, the series will be sold on the project’s website, ziggurats.xyz, with each NFT costing 15 XTZ (about $75 at current pricing). Users who do not wish to purchase the NFT will be able to listen to a rendition of the song on streaming platforms.
