Known for her Stranger Things role, Mille Brown has been one of Netflix’s ultimate stars. The online streaming platform is set to bring Millie Brown’s acting expertise as she reprises the role of a bisexual con artist in its upcoming film adaptation.
The Girls I’ve Been is a famous book written by Tess Sharpe. It is about “a deliciously commercial YA page-turner about the daughter of a con artist who is taken hostage in a bank heist,” per Goodreads.
First reported on Deadline as exclusive, the Netflix film adaptation will center around this con-artist, named Nora O’Malley. She’s her mother’s convict-protege, but Nora leaves her mother after falling for someone who they were supposed to con.
Nora gets caught by her ex-boyfriend, Wes, with her current love interest, Iris. Things immediately turn into an “exhilarating thriller” when all three of them become hostages in a bank heist.
Now, Nora is forced to awaken her inner con-artist, by using her “powers of persuasion and impersonation,” to get all three of them out the mess.
The Eleven actress will, of course, be playing the role of Nora O’Malley. Based on the book, Millie Brown will be reprising the role of a very foxy girl with quite the street smarts. Aside from being involved in an unusual love triangle, she will also bring into life the sad and very “in real life” mother-daughter relationship, set in a gangster-like environment.
Millie Brown won’t just be the star of this thriller film, but she will also be a producer through her PCMA Productions. Jason Bateman and partner Michael Costigan will co-produce, through their Aggregate Films Banner, per Deadline.
While waiting for The Girls I’ve Been even to start its production, fans of the 16-year-old will catch her this September.
Accordingly, Netflix is about to release Enola Holmes this September. Brown will be seen playing the role of Enola, Sherlock’s rebellious teen sister, and “a gifted super-sleuth in her own right.”
Alongside Brown, Henry Cavill will be reprising the role of Sherlock while Sam Clafin will play Mycroft. This will be a different sight to see, as fans may have gotten used to seeing Sherlock be played by Benedict Cumberbatch.
Although, Cavill, known for his role—not to mention his hero-like good looks—as Superman will surely not disappoint the avid Sherlock fans.
