Charlize Theron reportedly wants to appear for a guest role on Mindhunter.
With Mindhunter season 3 in the early development stage, Charlize Theron reportedly wants to join the show’s cast. Details of the role she might play are still under wraps.
Theron would not be a stranger to the show’s production staff. She served as an executive producer on the Netflix series’ first two seasons.
Mindhunter follows the establishment of the behavioral science unit of the FBI. It is an adaptation of the book Mindhunter: Inside the FBI’s Elite Serial Crime Unit by former agents John E. Douglas and Mark Olshaker.
What we know about Mindhunter season 3
Mindhunter season 3 is proving to be one of the highly awaited projects on Netflix.
Right now, it looks like it may take a while before Netflix audiences will be able to watch Mindhunter season 3. This was after the streamer put the show on indefinite hold because of the busy schedule of its exec producer, David Fincher.
According to reports, cast members Jonathan Groff, Anna Torv, and Holt McCallany were released from their contracts. While waiting for the show’s production to resume, the three actors are free to pursue other projects.
Netflix had this to say about the contract release:
[Fincher] may revisit Mindhunter again in the future, but in the meantime felt it wasn’t fair to the actors to hold them from seeking other work while he was exploring new work of his own.
Mindhunter season 2 receives praise
Mindhunter season 3 inspired intense anticipation because the second season gained positive feedbacks from its viewers. The praises should be enough for Netflix to renew the series.
Moreover, series’ sophomore season got a Metacritic score of 85. An improvement from the first outing’s score of 79. It also got a 98% Tomatometer score on Rotten Tomatoes upon release.
