‘Mindhunters’ Season 3 may feature Ted Bundy plus other major details

Netflix has yet to give Mindhunter Season 3 the green light, but fans are still hopeful a new season will come. The streaming giant has put the show on hold indefinitely, as the cast and crew are released from their contracts.

But, is there still a chance that they will all reunite for another season? Where Mindhunter Season 3 will once again take the viewers?

The hopes for a new season

The show’s executive producer, David Fincher, is now focusing on doing his new movie for Netflix. He is also producing Love, Death and Robots, so he has no time to do the crime thriller’s third installment yet.

“He may revisit Mindhunter again in the future,” a rep told TV Line. Fincher finds it unfair to put the cast on hold while he is busy doing his own work. So, he released them from their contracts to do other projects.

However, Holt McCallany, who played as Special Agent Bill Tench, told Pop Culture that he is hoping Mindhunter Season 3 would not only push through but have another two more seasons. Today, it remains to be a big mystery what will happen next to the show.

“We are hopeful that we will get to do the whole five seasons,” he said. “The audience seems to have really responded to the show; people really like the show.

Possible new plotline

Mindhunter Season 3 is only on hold. So, there is a big chance that it will still continue. So, where will it possibly take the fans?

According to Pop Culture Times, if the new season will happen, Rader (Sonny Valicenti) and Kemper (Cameron Britton) may return. It is also expected to continue where the previous season left off.

After Bill returned home without his wife and son, he might step back from his work at the BSU. Carr (Anna Torv) might also finally reveal her true sexuality, which might affect her career.

Mindhunter Season 3 may continue exploring the 1980s era and will be focusing on high-profile serial killers, like Ted Bundy and Joseph Paul Fraklin.

Fans have been speculating who among the famous serial killers at the time will make an appearance on the show. As one of the most controversial killers, Bundy’s name seems to be the perfect fit, Digital Spy noted.

The second season happened between 1980 and 1981. At the time, Bundy was in prison. He stayed behind bars for nine years and died through electric chair execution in 1989. Admitting 30 murders, and probably more, he may be featured in Mindhunter Season 3.
