Mindy Kaling confirms giving birth to her second bundle of joy named Spencer.
On The Late Show With Stephen Colbert, American actress Mindy Kaling revealed that she welcomed a healthy baby boy during the quarantine. The interview took place on October 8 (Thursday) virtually.
The host of the show, Stephen Colbert, first initiated the conversation by saying he received some good news, which he rarely gets these days.
He asked if she would share the news with the audience because they will be thrilled to hear it. The actress responded, “Yes, I’m telling it for the first time now. It feels so strange,” continuing “This is news to a lot of people. It’s true! his name is spencer.”

Upon hearing the joyful news, Stephen congratulated Mindy by saying its wonderful. Mindy is now a mother-of-two.
Oprah Winfrey made the first announcement
The vast news comes as a surprise to Mindy’s fans as she did not announce her pregnancy. The actress spent most of her quarantine period in her home in Los Angeles, alongside her first child Katherine Swati Kaling.
Oprah Winfrey announced Mindy’s pregnancy while speaking with the actress on The Ellen DeGeneres Show. Mindy exclaimed that she has no opposition to Oprah breaking the news because she sees her as a religious figure.
Furthermore, the Oceans 8 star revealed that her day-to-day life is packed with her eldest starting preschool. Mindy also manages a team of writers for her shows via Zoom.

The Late Night actress says she hired a babysitter for her newborn. She shared that it was one of the best suggestions she made. She also credits her for helping through the initial days of taking care of the baby.
Nothing like she imagined
Mindy gave the middle name Swati to her first daughter in honor of her mother, Swati Chokalingam. She lost her mother in 2012 of pancreatic cancer, just ahead of receiving approval for her series The Mindy Project.
The announcement comes after Mindy’s essay collection titled Nothing Like I Imagined (Except for Sometimes)’s release. In the essays, the writer reveals that she is ready to expand her family if her baby nurse is ready to assist her.
The writer-comedienne never revealed the identity of her children’s father. After her first pregnancy came to light, speculations arose that she might have used a sperm donor. Despite the speculations, the actress neither confirmed nor denied the news.
