Moonton took Mobile Legends to the next level with the Project NEXT update. The update that reworked heroes and made the game more visually impressive is out but did it do what it was set out to do?
Moonton wanted to overhaul the MOBA with the Project NEXT update. Days after release, players already have their hands on the latest iteration of the MOBA. The only question that remains is whether or not the players love the new changes in Mobile Legends.
New meta changes
The reworks for Saber, Alucard, Layla, Miya, Eudora, and Zilong are finally implemented. Players who main these heroes are proud of the changes as finally, the heroes have more worth in the higher ranks. Both their mechanics and appearance have been changed, and fans are happy.
Along with this, the addition of Gold and XP lanes, early tower bonuses, and a deeper role for junglers and assassins have been made. The meta has been changed wildly, and matches are now more different.
Assassins have started to play a more crucial role in the game. They are now tasked with jungling the neutral creeps early on. Since only those with retribution can buy the hunter’s blade, players now also have to think carefully about their build and team composition.
Instead of having tanks support marksmen throughout the fight, marksmen are now often tasked with staying in the gold lane to farm. Players are still adjusting to the new meta. However, they are already big fans of it as the matches have become more exciting.
Visual upgrades
Mobile Legends is more beautiful than it has ever been. While Moonton didn’t make changes to the overall graphics, the visual enhancements were actually great. Instead of upgrading every asset, Moonton chose to add in more detail to what was already existing.
This allowed the developers to create a new atmosphere while ensuring that it’s something that players are certainly familiar with. What’s even better is that while upgraded, the changes don’t do much to affect the game’s battery consumption and performance.
Mobile Legends is in the best shape that it has been in. Players are hoping that there will be more changes like these in the future. Of course, it seems like Moonton’s work with the game is far from done, so we may as well see more major updates like these in the future.
