The popular series, Money Heist season 5, is officially returning to Netflix after having four successful seasons. Moreover, season 5 hints at Nairobi’s return.
For years, Money Heist has garnered millions of viewers across the globe, and it is even dubbed as one of the most-watched non-English titles on Netflix. Furthermore, the fourth season racked up a remarkable 65 million views. Hence, it’s not a surprise if fans are now expecting for Money Heist season 5.
Owing to its popularity, a documentary, Money Heist: The Phenomenon was released earlier this April. It documents the behind the scenes of the series, as well as its global success. Aside from that, the documentary features interviews from creators, casts of the phenomenal show.
“Money Heist” season 5 creator promises an exciting season
The show’s creator, Alex Pina, has promised to give the series a proper closure, at the same time, a mind-bending season. Pina shares a glimpse of what to expect in the fifth season. He said:
“We’ve spent almost a year thinking about how to break up the band. How to put the Professor on the ropes. How to get into situations that are irreversible for many characters. The result is the fifth part of La Casa de Papel. The war reaches its most extreme and savage levels, but it is also the most epic and exciting season.”
Season 5 hints Nairobi’s return
Nairobi, played by Alba Flores, met her demise in season 4. Gandia takes her captive and the team tries to buy her freedom. However, she was shot in the head after Gandia let her walk a short distance away.

Even though Nairobi’s death seemed final, her character appears in the first episode of the fifth installment. There’s no telling whether her character will appear in a flashback or just repeats.
What to expect from “Money Heist” Season 5
Season 5 will likely follow the Heist members as they try to escape from the Bank of Spain. Moreover, the biggest challenge for the gang in the final season is that the Professor is now caught. Sierra finally tracks down the Professor’s hideout and puts a gun in his head, saying “checkmate,” ending the series with another heart-pounding cliffhanger.

Hence, season 5 will unveil whether the Professor will finally meet his death, or will he escape. While fans are gathering up their theories and speculations, Netflix has not confirmed the official date of release. However, the show will return in Summer 2021.
