MONSTA X’s Kihyun made a thoughtful donation to children from less fortunate families!
The NGO Good Neighbors unveiled that Kihyun of MONSTA X handed out 10 million won (approximately 9,062 dollars) on January 18, 2021.
The donation intends to fund kits containing sanitary products for young girls from less fortunate households.
Kihyun’s overflowing generosity
Previously, MONSTA X donated in March 2020 the amount of 100 million won (approximately 90,600 dollars) to the same NGO.
This is to support those facing adversities in life due to the threat of COVID-19 in Daegu and North Gyeongsang Province regions.
MONSTA X and Monbebe, their fan club, became members of the Good Neighbor’s The Neighbors Club.
It is a status awarded to those who made contributions to the international humanitarian NGO of at least 10 million won a year and those who participated in purposeful activities to foster a culture of giving, especially to those in need.
Sharing the group’s overflowing happiness
The group recently earned various awards, such as the Best Group award during the 35th Golden Disc Awards.
Aside from that, the group also garnered awards such as Best Performance at the 2020 Melon Music Awards, Stage of the Year at the 2020 Asia Artist Awards, Best Stage at the 2020 Mnet Asian Music Awards, and Artist of the Year at The Fact Music Awards.
Kihyun was grateful for their fans’ support as they achieved big awards at the end of last year. He shared to have decided to donate because he wanted to share the happiness of receiving the awards.
He hoped to contribute at least a little to the children in deep need during these challenging times.

The director of marketing at Good Neighbors, Hwang Sung Joo, shared gratefulness to MONSTA X’s Kihyun.
This is for his generosity to protect the children from experiencing a cold winter because of the overlapping cold spell and the threat of COVID-19.
In addition to financial support, the Good Neighbors will also provide professional services like counseling and mentoring.
The recipients will be young girls from low-income households to sustain and achieve good health.
