There’s not a lot of games launching with the new generation but whatever’s available seems like a great title. One of the titles launching with the PlayStation 5 is Sackboy A Big Adventure, and Sony shared more details about it recently.
After the long wait, Little Big Planet’s Sackboy is going to have another adventure again. It comes in the form of the PlayStation 5 exclusive, Sackboy: A Big Adventure. The upcoming platformer was the highlight of a recent post on the PlayStation Blog. Here’s everything that was revealed about the game.
The development
As per Sumo Digital’s design director Ned Waterhouse, they aren’t still completely done with the game. He does add that they are only adding in the final touches and that the end goal is pretty near.
As this is a platformer, Sumo Digital wanted to ensure that each level of the game felt unique. What they wanted was to make sure that the players are always surprised to see what’s next.
“In one stage you’ll be careening through a mountain pass on a runaway train, the next exploring a forgotten temple or facing off against a hostile baddie. We’ve mixed up the gameplay with a bunch of new power ups – including one which at one point quite literally turns the world on its head!” Waterhouse said.
Waterhouse also reveals that there are over 60 costumes to collect in the game. Players can also mix and match the pieces they get to create their very own avatar. They’ve also introduced a new emote system, which includes hugs, chest bumps, and more.
Of course, the developer has also incorporated co-op elements into the upcoming game.

Special edition revealed
The blog also revealed a new special edition that comes with a ton of special bonuses for players to collect. The digital deluxe edition comes with a digital artbook, a digital soundtrack, and 20 Sackboy avatars.
There will also be four costumes based on Jin from Ghost of Tsushima, Sam Porter from Death Stranding, Connor from Detroit Become Human, and Deacon from Days Gone. Each of the costumes will have a corresponding emote to them as well.
The physical edition of this comes with a Sackboy plushie. Lastly, players who pre-order will be getting a special digital comic based on the game.
Sackboy A Big Adventure is a game for all ages. The exclusive bonuses should be enough to excite diehard Sony fans. However, the gameplay itself looks like it will be a fantastic platformer. Since the game is launching soon, this might be the last detail drop from the developers.
