A Redditor who claims to work at Netherrealm Studios sheds light on what appears to be upcoming contents to Mortal Kombat 11, which claims of four additional characters, while simultaneously debunking on previous rumors.
As per Redditor, acl86165051, rumors surrounding the appearance of Doom Slayer, John Wick, Michael Myers, and Deathstroke were untrue. Adding more to the bombshell is the revelation that the game development company is not working on Injustice 3.
New Kombatants Coming
In light of the revelation, however, the Redditor claims something that MK fans should still be excited about. It concerns the introduction of yet another four fighters to add to the overall roster of MK11.
Three of the four combatants are disclosed as male figures and one female who is going to be a “guest” character. One of the three male combatants is also described to be an “unfortunate bystander.”
Those descriptions do not necessarily tell much for one to make an accurate guess. But fans of the series who know its lore would have a faint idea of what the mentioned description may be pointing to.
Hazard a Guess
Describing a potential combatant as a looker is vague, which can direct to a number of options. While much of the fighters in the MK series were not necessarily homebound, it’s likely telling of a profession, like a police patrol. Possibly, hinting on the likes of Stryker, who is specifically a beat cop during the events of Mortal Kombat 9.
The remaining two characters being described only as “male” is on a different level of difficulty. This could require making a list of all male combatants that had previously appeared in the series and are not in MK11.
But it would not be surprising to see Lin Kuei robots, Cyrax and Sektor, making a reappearance; even Bo’ Rai Cho, as well.
A “female guest character,” too, is another hard one to crack. With literally many franchises that feature a female fighter, and without disclosing which franchise it’s coming from, the selection’s long.
However, considering that Robocop, a 90’s figure, had made its way to Mortal Kombat 11 kind of gives an idea of a criterion. If this deduction is to go by, the chance is good we’d be seeing yet another character from that generation with Xena.
Alternatively, it could also be Disney’s Mulan, also an iconic figure born from the ’90s.
