NetherRealms Studios has been adding some great characters for Mortal Kombat 11, and the roster is going to expand once again. This time, we’ll get a brutal movie icon from the 90s as the game’s next DLC.
The next character for Mortal Kombat 11 is Rambo. Stylized to look and sound like Sylvester Stallone, this movie icon will soon join the game. To commemorate his nearing appearance, the developers have finally shown us some official gameplay trailer for him.
Ruthless playstyle
The trailer starts off with Rambo facing off against Kabal. From the get-go, fans of the movie franchise will immediately see the resemblance between Sylvester Stallone’s Rambo to his rendition in the fighting game. As they did with the Terminator, NetherRealms did an excellent job translating the character into a video game.
True to his character, Rambo uses an assortment of tools and weapons in his arsenal. In the trailer, we can see that his primary form of attack is via his hunting knife. He can also lob grenades, shoot arrows, and set up rope traps for his enemies as well.
It seems like players will benefit more from being aggressive when playing as Rambo. His skillset in Mortal Kombat 11 is all about getting up close and personal with the enemy.
By the end, we get to see Rambo’s fatality. He begins by pushing the enemy towards a spike trap. Then, he proceeds to initiate his iconic move in which is rips out the throat of his enemy.
Other characters
Aside from Rambo, series favorites Rain and Mileena are joining the game in the future as well. We’ve yet to see how they’ll fight in this iteration of the fighting franchise. In the past, Rain is capable of using water-based abilities, and he’s often seen as an amazing ninja at that.
On the other hand, the half-Tarkatan, half-human Princess Mileena, is known for her savage fighting style. In previous games, she uses her beastly jaws in combat, just as what most Tarkatans do. We’ll see more of these two characters in the future, but for now, players should keep their eyes on Rambo.
Rambo is just one of the new characters coming to Mortal Kombat 11. A lot of players – and fans of the film franchise, are excited to try this new combatant out. Hopefully, the developers reveal gameplay footage of the other characters soon as well.
