The Moto G9, which succeeds the Moto G8 phone launched earlier in 2020, is the first phone in India to be powered by the Snapdragon 662 SoC.
Motorola has officially unveiled the Moto G9 smartphone, its latest offering in the established Moto G series. Announced in the Indian market, the company’s latest, no-frills mid-range smartphone, is also its first smartphone in the market to draw its power from Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 662 chip.
The Moto G9 is the successor of the Moto G8 phone which launched earlier this year.
Moto G9: 6.5-inch LCD panel, rear triple cameras
The Motorola Moto G9 phone features a polycarbonate body that measures 165.2 x 75.7 x 9.2 mm, weighing 200 grams. It also comes with a water-repellent coating.
The front panel of the device employs a 6.5-inch IPS LCD type, with a resolution of 720 x 1,600 pixels and a waterdrop notch; the latter houses a single 8-megapixel selfie snapper with an f/2.2 aperture.
On its rear, the Moto G9 has a triple-camera setup, housed in a square module that is placed at the top center of the panel. The setup is headlined by a large 48MP wide lens with an f/1.7 aperture, plus 2MP Macro Vision sensor, and a 2MP depth sensor.
The rear camera system of the handset also packs an LED flash and offers a slew of features. These include Night Vision, smart composition, auto smile capture, shot optimization, spot color, and hyper-lapse, among others. There is also a high-resolution zoom and Google Lens integration to boot.
The Motorola logo can also be seen on the back panel. This also doubles as the device’s fingerprint reader.
5,000mAh battery with 20W fast wired charging
Accompanying the Moto G9’s Snapdragon chipset in the hardware segment is a 4GB of RAAM and an expandable 64GB of internal storage.
A massive 5,000mAh battery capacity with support for 20W fast wired charging (20W Turbo Power) is likewise listed. Motorola claims that the battery can offer streaming music for an uninterrupted 83 hours and 16 hours of streaming videos.
The Moto G9 is also home to some crucial features. These include Bluetooth 5.0, NFC for contactless payments, 3.5mm headphone jack, dual SIM support for 4G VoLTE, and USB Type-C. The phone runs on Motorola’s My UX, based on the latest Android 10.
The phone is priced at INR 11,499. It retails in two color variants – Sapphire Blue and Forest Green.
The Moto G9 is confirmed to become available in the Indian market on August 31 via Flipkart.
