Motorola is keen on launching its newest Edge flagship and it’s going to be virtual. Catch its “launch E-vent” next week!
Launch delays have become almost commonplace in today’s tech community. Considering all that is happening globally, many tech giants have opted to delay their newest flagship releases to avoid further damage.
However, it looks like Motorola is not going to delay its newest Edge flagship phone any longer. The Chicago-based telecommunications company has finally issued an exact date for the new Motorola Edge release – April 22, 11:00 AM CDT.
The smartphone maker announced the event through its official Twitter account.

Going virtual
Motorola was originally expected to formally announce its latest Edge flagship offering at this year’s Mobile World Congress (MWC).
Unfortunately, the MWC 2020 event, among many others, had to be canceled due to concerns over the COVID-19 pandemic.
This time around, however, the Lenovo-owned mobile brand is choosing to do it virtually, similar to what Huawei and Xiaomi have already done.
Unfortunately, no other information was given as to how the “E-vent” will transpire.
What to expect from the Motorola Edge flagship
Just to be clear, Motorola has not released any official specifications yet for the Edge. But rumors have been brewing in the last few months, with some leaks suggesting flagship-level features.
The phone maker’s upcoming Edge is said to come in two versions — a true flagship variant that rocks a Snapdragon 865 chipset, and a more budget-friendly option that offers the same design as the flagship, but with a more modest Snapdragon 765 mobile processor.
Speaking of the design, if the leaked images that surfaced online last month turn out to be true, then the Motorola Edge device will feature a curved hole punch screen built within super-thin bezels, and fitted with a whopping 108-megapixel shooter:
And today comes your very first look at which I assume will be launched as the #Motorola #MotoEdgePlus!

Based on the leaked render of the rear side, the smartphone will offer a triple camera configuration, laid out vertically.

Motorola’s parent company, Lenovo, may have its hands full with the upcoming release of a new flagship device, but that does not mean that the Chinese tech giant hasn’t been busy offering affordable phones.
Just this week, the company launched the Lenovo A7, which boasts a UNISOC chipset.
