Devolver Digital and Deadtoast announced My Friend Pedro: Ripe for Revenge, an upcoming free-to-play spin-off for iOS and Android.
My Friend Pedro: Ripe for Revenge should follow in the same vein as the original title. It plays like a solid hub shooter that works as a cross between several titles. For what it’s worth, it’s cheeky fun that the original My Friend Pedro is famous for.
My Friend Pedro spin-off follows new gameplay
My Friend Pedro is a fantastic side-scroller title that combines several ideas in one package. It combines the slo-mo bullet time of Max Payne with the mayhem of The Swindle. The game is one of a kind, and yet Ripe for Revenge is another thing all together.
“They kidnapped his wife and kids and left him for dead. But it’s going to take more than that to split this banana’s family. Help your friend Pedro serve some ice cold revenge, with a sprinkle of bullets on top!” said the press release.
“Flip and fire your way through dozens of action packed levels on foot, on a motorcycle, and even on a skateboard. Plan your high caliber choreography for the best scores and, if your skin is tough enough, test your skills in Blood Rush mode.”
Ripe for Revenge is eyeing for the same style of gameplay, but vastly different too. The game, from what it looks like on the debut, is a combo of Max Payne and Ori and the Blind Forest. It looks like a fun time that works well for mobile.
Ripe for Revenge has same feel, different play
My Friend Pedro: Ripe for Revenge should work as a solid title for mobile. The game itself is still in pre-registration, but the gameplay looks fine from the looks of the trailer.

The movement follows almost the same as Ori and the Blind Forest. Depending on the levels, many would need to blast themselves towards the air in the direction they want. Through this fluid movement, players can then start bullet time in the air.
The game plays much like a puzzler, encouraging players to kill enemies faster and with more style. The original title is still a solid game and for those who enjoyed the original, this is a great pick up.
My Friend Pedro sold as many as 500,000 copies in October 2019. The game itself shifted 250,000 copies for the PC and the Switch in its first week. My Friend Pedro: Ripe for Revenge is available for pre-registration right now on both iOS and Android.
