A fundraising round conducted by European blockchain start-up, Roobee, has ended in bizarre circumstances after the company received 200 BTC from a mysterious crypto whale.
The investor transferred the Bitcoin, worth around US$1m, directly to Roobee’s wallet, leaving just one simple four-word message.
“In Roobee I Trust”, wrote the whale who is among the top 250 Bitcoin holders.
The start-up has provided a link to the investor’s wallet which appears to show the transaction to Roobee and reveals the investor holds just under 7000 BTC.
“The anonymous benefactor is known for his early investments in big Asian projects, in particular the investor had purchased Korean exchange Binance tokens shortly after they had been listed for sale,” the company said in a statement.
Roobee revealed the details today after closing its first round of private sales.
It has attracted more than US$5.5m in funding.
“I am delighted that another crypto whale has been invested in Roobee, which has been developing in the crypto industry for many years and has an influence on it,” said Roobee Co-Founder, Artem Popov.
“The recognition of such experienced and long-time participants of this market confirms that Roobee has great potential for development and that our team can truly turn the world of investment around for the better.”
After obtaining licenses for storage and exchange of cryptocurrencies in the European Union, Roobee is developing a blockchain-based trading platform which will allow users to purchase digitised assets including; IPOs, real estate, funds, shares of start-ups and cryptocurrencies.
The start-up claims a series of tests on the platform have been conducted in which over 5,000 people have transferred over $15 million to blockchain projects, investments and venture funds.

During Roobee’s pre-seed funding round in late 2018, the company received US$4.5m from another mystery crypto trader – the man who made headlines in 2017 after making $US200m in a single month trading Ethereum.
The crypto whale, who is known by the moniker ‘200M_trader’, said at the time he believes Roobee can achieve a market cap of US$1 billion in five years.
