Although the streaming giant has yet to give the new season the green light, the previous season hints what may happen next. In the show’s history, after Felix’s arrest, according to Express, he started handling his cartel from prison in the 1990s.
From here, Amado Carrillo Fuentes (José María Yazpik) becomes a known name in Mexico’s drug underworld. This is even revealed when DEA Walt Breslin (Scoot McNairy) visited Felix in prison. Here, he announced the seat of power would be moved to Juarez from Guadalajara. So, this may be where Narcos: Mexico Season 3 begins.
The new season may also explore the story of El Chapo (Alejandro Edda). Likewise, Walt Breslin (Scoot McNairy) may make a triumphant return. The show’s producer, Eric Newman, even confirmed the possibility of it.
“There might be,” he told The Hollywood Reporter. “I think we would only be so lucky as to continue to work with Scoot McNairy.”
Narcos: Mexico Season 3’s possible renewal
As the second season ended with a nerve-cracking finale, fans have high expectations for Narcos: Mexico Season 3’s coming. Netflix has yet to announce the show’s renewal. However, it has been its common practice to wait for a few months before it gives it a go.
Just like fans, Newman also believed that a new season would soon come. “I will do this as long as they’ll let me do it,” he said. “As I always say, we’ll go on as long as they let us and as long as the drug war rages.”
Although the drug war continues, Newman explained he has an end story for Narcos: Mexico. “I’ve always had a pretty fair idea at where we end up,” he said. As he revealed that it’s the only thing that he could say about Narcos: Mexico season 3, did he hint that it would be its last and final installment?
