The music video for NCT 127’s new album, Sticker, combines science fiction with the wild west.
After nearly a year, NCT 127 returns with their fourth studio album, Sticker. The much-anticipated return has already broken records, with NCT 127 becoming a million-seller on the same day pre-orders were released.
With 2.12 million pre-orders on September 16, they became the first company to sell a million copies. Not only that, but it has helped Mark and Haechan sell eight million records, making Yuta the first Japanese K-pop star with a total of five million albums sold. And now the music video for Sticker has gotten even more attention.
On September 17, the album and the sci-fi music video for Sticker were released. Since the concept images were released, NCTzens have been anticipating the music video.
In colorful sets, the guys were dressed in elegant satin costumes and denim cowboy appearances.
The guys channeled a futuristic Wild West in the music video teaser, with NCT 127 fighting with one other. In the sci-fi music video, Taeyong and Johnny have grabbed the attention of fans.
The music video for ‘Sticker’ begins with Taeyong
NCT 127 is renowned for noisy music and experimental tunes. And with a powerful flute melody mixed with trap and hip-hop elements in the arrangement, Sticker pushes the boundaries even further.
The music video is just as thrilling as the tune. Taeyong, the frontman of NCT, begins with a blazing costume in a futuristic bar reminiscent of the Old West.
The neon-colored holograms do little to prepare us for the crazy trip that Sticker takes us on, complete with blinged-up cowboy outfits, sci-fi lassos, and mechanical bulls.
Johnny is ahead-turner in ‘Sticker’
During the bridge, Johnny steals the show with his rap, which slows things down before the dancing break.
Fans couldn’t get enough of Johnny’s scenes, which featured flaunting his tattoos and wearing sleek black shirts that highlighted his toned physique and abs.
He didn’t get much screentime or words in previous NCT comebacks, but that has changed with Neo Zone, and Johfams (Johnny’s fanbase) pleased him.
There were many highlights in the ‘Sticker’ music video, a mix of classical flute music, fierce dance, and sci-fi CGI.
For example, Jungwoo shooting hearts and having his heart shot while Jaehyun hitting the camera is a creative bridge transition.
With Taeil and Doyoung harmonizing with their falsettos that complement the experimental hip-hop tune, NCT 127 shows that no one can perform noise music better than them.
