In only 24 hours after pre-orders began, NCT 127’s forthcoming album ‘Sticker’ has sold 1.32 million copies!
NCT appears to be having a fantastic year in 2021. The members separated into their different fixed sub-units after the excellent response of NCT 2020’s Resonance and the two new members Sungchan and Shotaro.
With their albums Hot Sauce and Hello Future, NCT Dream became triple million sellers. WayV’s EP Kick Back debuted at number one on the Gaon Chart and was certified platinum in South Korea.
NCT 127’s Japanese single Loveholic topped the Oricon Chart and Billboard Japan, not to be outdone. It was also awarded gold by the RIAJ, Japan’s recording industry organisation.
NCTzens were waiting with bated breath to see how NCT 127’s next album Sticker would be accepted after NCT Dream created K-pop history. And it appears like they’re on their way to being million-selling artists even before the record is released.
With Sticker, NCT 127 has become a million-seller once more
NCT 127’s fourth studio album, Sticker, was previewed by SM last week. On September 17, the album will be released. The album’s pre-orders began on August 23. While the 24-hour milestone has yet to be met, it has been revealed that 1.32 million pre-orders have been placed. The album is NCT 127’s first to reach a million pre-orders.
It’s also their second album to sell a million copies in general, with Neo Zone being the first in 2020. However, many predict that overall sales for Sticker will be far greater than those for Neo Zone, as the former has already surpassed the million mark weeks before its release. NCTzens are ecstatic, although Neo Zone only received 530k pre-orders till the final day before its release.
Everyone seems to be anticipating the release of Sticker. The band promoted the album’s release in a unique way by proposing a university idea called NCIT on Instagram. Jungwoo and Haechan, the only two NCT 127 members without an Instagram account, created one, and everyone altered their profile picture to a college major and graduating class.
But it wouldn’t be simple, as the following concept teaser has a darker tone to it, as the lads appear to be some sort of hackers. Today, August 24, at 8 p.m. KST, the lads will have a spoiler VLive (7 am ET).
