Netflix has officially confirmed the renewal of the Spanish teen series Elite. However, some cast will not reprise their roles.
One of the most famous non-English shows on Netflix is the Spanish series Elite. Even with a million other choices on Netflix, this sultry, and whipsmart teen genre entry proved worthy of the spotlight. Hence, Elite’s recent season three premiere detonated on Netflix and made fans long for the arrival of the fourth season.
A Spanish publication has previously hinted that Elite is already in its pre-production stages for season 4. Moreover, cast members Miguel Bernardeu (Guzmán) and Itzan Escamilla (Samuel) have teased the fourth season on social media already. However, Netflix was tight-lipped then.
Netflix confirms the renewal of Elite for season 4
Now, the streaming platform Netflix has officially confirmed Elite’s renewal for season 4. The streaming giant’s official Twitter account for the show posted a video with a caption that says,
“It’s official. We’ll be back for season 4.”
The video featured the returning cast of the season commenting on the status of the series. This includes Itzan Escamilla (Samu), Miguel Bernardeau (Guzman), Arón Piper (Ander), Omar Ayuso (Omar), Claudia Salas (Rebeca) and Georgina Amorós (Cayetana).

Elite stars reveal update on season 4
Furthermore, the group revealed that the scripts of the show’s fourth run are already complete. They also shared their excitement about what they’ve read in the new scripts, saying, “it’s intense.” One cast further commented,
“There are many new things going on you could never think of.”
Some cast will not reprise their roles
Unfortunately, the announcement comes with the list of the cast who won’t be returning. Mina El Hammani (Nadia), Danna Paola (Lu), Ester Expósito (Carla), Álvaro Rico (Polo), and Jorge López (Valerio) will not reprise their roles in season 4.
The cast changes were previously hinted by Georgina Amoros, who plays Cayetana. In a video, the actress mentioned,
“It’s a season where the cycle is completed. Another one starts. Get your tissues ready because you will need them. It’s a very complete season.”
The news came quite unsurprising for devotees as season 3 of Elite has already given closure to its main characters. The last episode showed many of them moving on with their lives and careers, either in Spain or abroad. Nonetheless, the upcoming season will introduce brand new stars to portray new characters.

What to expect
Since the show has already wrapped up the murder of Marina and Polo in the previous seasons, the series’ fifth run is likely to tackle a completely new mystery. Although the end of the third season clearly said goodbye to some characters, there’s still plenty to explore in season 4 with the characters still at Las Encinas.
As of press time, Netflix has not yet slated Elite season 4 for a release date. With the premiere schedule still up in the air, the streaming platform has not disclosed a trailer yet.
