Netflix series The Crown is returning soon. Details about the upcoming season has been unveiled by creators.
Netflix original The Crown is famous for its splendid storyline and a magnificent cast. It is one of Netflix hit series which made fans watch it until the last episode with full excitement and joy.
After the third season, everyone are in wait for the arrival of The Crown’s season four. Fortunately, Netflix revealed recently that the series is already in is finishing stages.
Despite the ongoing pandemic, the project is being worked on. Hence, fans need not to wait longer for the release of season four since it is already scheduled for the next 12 months or so.
Previous season of The Crown
The last season of The Crown covered the decade after the 1963 scandal. This includes the decolonization of Africa and the Caribbean, as well as Apollo 11’s landing on the moon in 1969.
Moreover, the third season showcased Labour prime minister Harold Wilson’s arrival at Downing Street and the 1966 Aberfan disaster in Wales, which resulted in 144 deaths.
As for personal relationships, season three marked the conclusion of Princess Margaret’s marriage to Lord Snowdon and the start of her affair with Roddy Llewellyn, a landscape gardener.
It also introduced audiences to grown-up versions of the Queen’s youngest children, including Charles and Anne. However, the central plot of this season was Charle’s early romance with Camilla.

The Crown’s season 4 plot
Since the third season is over, details about The Crown season four starts pouring in.

According to creators, the fourth season would center around Thatcher’s years as prime minister who held the title from 1979 to 1990. Events in that period include Prince Charles and Princess Diana’s wedding in 1981, and the birth of their two sons, Prince William and Prince Harry.
Furthermore, the infamous 1982 break-in at Buckingham Palace will also be depicted in the next season. One major event that will be included in season four is Princess Margaret’s surgery in 1985.
However, the 1987 TV special It’s a Royal Knockout wherein a charity was staged on the lawn of Alton Towers, will not be included in the upcoming season.
Cast
For the most exciting excursion of The Crown season four, fans will see some of the current cast returning. This includes Josh O’Connor as Prince Charles, Helena Bonham Carter playing Princess Margaret, Tobias Menzies as Prince Philip and Erin Doherty in the role of Princess Anne.
The series will also spot many fresh debuts to the cast, including Lady Diana Spencer that will be played by up-and-coming actress Emma Corrin.

Sadly, there have been many speculations that Imelda Staunton will take over the role of Queen Elizabeth from Colman. However, Netflix has not yet commented or made an official announcement about this yet.
