The much-awaited Netflix original, The Last Kingdom Season 4 is just days away from hitting the home screen, and a new trailer and teaser have just been released.
Based on the historical fiction novels of Bernard Cornwell titled, The Saxon Stories, The Last Kingdom conveyed King Alfred’s ambition to unite all the kingdoms into one England.
Uhtred of Bebanburg played by Alexander Dreymon will be back to reprise his role as the main character of series.
The Last Kingdom Season 4 new teaser and trailer released
The Last Kingdom Season 4 teaser and trailer which were released on Twitter and Instagram showed a more aggressive and courageous Uhtred. Uhtred is said to continue his quest to reclaim his rights as a king which will require him to fight his uncle.
It appears that the fourth sequel will draw more blood as Uhtred and his companions go to war. It’s not yet clear whether the Danes will fight with Uhtred or against him. However, the trailer revealed that Aethelflaed, played by Millie Brady will be going to war with Uhtred.

In another teaser, Father Beoca played by Ian Hart is seen with Hilde (Eva Birthistle) and Uhtred who seemed to be bringing good news. Aelfric (Joseph Millson) was also seen in another clip, encouraging and boosting the soldiers’ confidence before an attack.
Who will be returning to the series
Aside from the main character, Uhtred, some of the cast will be reprising their role for The Last Kingdom Season 4. Millie Brady will be returning as Aetheflaed, as well as Ian Hart as Father Beoca, Toby Regbo as Aethelred and Mark Rowley as Finan.
There will be newcomers that will be introduced in the show, but fans will have to wait until the series has aired. The fourth season will include Jamie Blackley, as Eardwulf and Stefanie Martini as Eadith.
What to expect from The Last Kingdom Season 4
The Last Kingdom Season 4 is expected to follow Bernard Cornwell’s Book Seven and Eight, The Pagan Lord, and The Empty Throne.
Based on the books, the great king Alfred was already dead, as well as his nephew, Aethelwold. Alfred’s son, Edward the Elder is expected to take over his father’s kingdom, Wessex.

Meanwhile, in the previous season, Alfred’s daughter, Aethelflaed married the king of Mercia. However, viewers can conclude that Aethelflaed will be seen in the circle of Uhtred.
Uhtred, on the other hand, will reclaim his birthright as the rightful Lord of Bebbanburg, in Northumbria. For the fans and followers, the epic series of Netflix will air on April 26.
