Already in development but was postponed amid the ravaging effect of the coronavirus, Netflix’s The Witcher TV series remains on sight for 2021 release and is said to be revolving around Geralt’s roots.
The first season of The Witcher TV series has been a confusing ride for most audiences. With the entire initial season having a bad habit of jumping between timelines, which leaves people in muddiness with the overall happening.
New Season, New Approach
Season 2 seems to be going away from all of that and instead is giving the protagonist a needed background look, giving viewers an understanding as to the goings-on that led to a man who would become the legendary White Wolf.

But equally as interesting is a lookout into Geralt’s relationship with both Ciri and Yennefer, whom the mutant protagonist consider as family. Not by blood, but by sheer happenstance of the events that led to their eventual meetings, at least.
Yet, the second season for the series will not be revolving solely around a single Witcher throughout. Making for an added interest in the upcoming season is the debut of other Witchers who had been significant to Geralt’s life.
They include Coen, Eskert, and Lambert whom Geralt considers as his brothers in arms. In addition to Vesemir, who stood as his father figure as well as a mentor to the arts of the Witcher.
A Witcher Household
Seeing the Witchers in full camaraderie makes for an exciting sight indeed. But part of the interest boils down to the past events that led to such a strong bond. Something that the next season will try to uncover as well for the audience.
Casting is not an issue, as well. With the likes of Kim Bodnia (Vesemir), Yasen Atour (Coen), Paul Bullion (Lambert), and Thue Ersted Rasmussen (Eskel) to perform their respective roles.
The Continent just got a little bigger. Here's the new cast of #TheWitcher Season 2:

Other supporting characters will also be joining in the new season, involving Arnes Born, Mecia Simson, and Aisha Fabienne Ross. This is not to mention the returning characters who will make re-appearance and do significant roles in the story.
The Witcher Season 1 ended with Geralt meeting with Ciri that sets a premise of what to expect in Season 2. No other than the events that unfolded within Kaer Morhen as Ciri began her training, along with the Witchers.
The effects of COVID-19 remains in effect to this day. But it seems that the production team is committed to delivering their creative product sometime next year.
