At last, Android users of Apple Music can now enjoy the exceptional features of Spatial Audio and Lossless Audio with the latest beta.
Last week, during its WWDC event, Apple unveiled the highly anticipated audio features for Apple Music. Now the recent Android beta of the app has enabled them for those using non-iOS devices.
Apple Music on Android gets Spatial Audio.
According to a recent report, the iPhone-maker added the support for Spatial and Lossless Audio on the recent Apple Music beta.
“In this update, Apple Music adds spatial listening on compatible devices, with thousands of tracks in Dolby Atmos available at launch.”
Apart from that, there’s the Lossless option as well that gives the listeners an incomparable experience. It provides high-resolution sound quality at an increased bit rate.
In the Settings, now there is a new “Audio Quality” sub-menu. It can enable Lossless Audio, and users can also select between different tiers where applicable.
Apple Music beta 3.6 for Android also includes automatic crossfade along with library in-line search function improvements.
However, there’s one thing to note: Lossless Audio consumes a lot of data since it preserves the original quality of any track.
For example, if you have 10 GB of space, you can generally store approximately 3,000 songs at a higher quality. But when Lossless Audio is enabled, you can only store around 1,000 tracks.
In the case of listening to very hi-res lossless tracks, you can only save just 200 files.
