New Call of Duty: Warzone data mined voice lines reveal a compelling storyline in the highly anticipated Zombie Royale mode.
While Warzone developers are yet to confirm a zombie mode for the popular battle royale game, all the signs point to its existence. In fact, previous leaks claim that the zombie mode could arrive before Call of Duty Black Ops: Cold War is released in November.
The beloved Call of Duty zombie mode dates back to 2008 with Treyarch’s World at War. With Treyarch at the helm of the upcoming Call of Duty Black Ops: Cold War, fans could expect the return of the popular game mode.
But an all-new zombie mode could also come to Warzone before all that.

Introducing the Call of Duty: Warzone “Zombie Royale”
Previous leaks have all but confirmed the existence of Zombie Royale. This began last month when a Warzone data mining session happened to stumble upon a file called “Zombie Royale” with a description that reads:
“Players turn into Zombies on death, but can become human again by consuming fallen player’s hearts.”
Having players die and then turn into zombies to hunt down the enemy team certainly puts an interesting new spin on the zombie mode especially since they get to resurrect by eating enough players’ hearts. The Gulag would be unavailable for this game mode.
Players would be dumped into a zombie-filled field plagued by toxic gas.
A more recent data mining session by Redditor xShadowZ199 discovered voice lines that tell more about the new zombie mode. This includes a compelling storyline.
Interesting Zombie Royale mechanics
The Reddit user had leaked more than 30 voice lines from his data mining session. Many of these voice lines reference a narrative that would influence the entire game mode.
Gas is ever-present in any Warzone playlist but it is all the more potent in Zombie Royale and plays a bigger role. Zombies would naturally be immune to the gas but they also become empowered when exposed to it.
Furthermore, some voice lines hint at a helicopter extraction. Players would have to depend on the chopper and when the extraction fails, survive long enough until another takes a survivor to safety.
Players that fall would come back as one of the dead. Eat enough players and they’ll regain their humanity. However, teams are still able to resurrect their fallen teammates through the traditional Buy Station that is still present in the game mode.
Players unable to resurrect are still able to help their living teammates using special abilities that are still unknown as of yet.
It is unclear as to when the Zombie Royale game mode will arrive on Call of Duty: Warzone.
