New iPhone 12 dummy images offer close-up look

Apple will be adopting the iPhone 4’s design for the upcoming iPhone 12, which will feature flat edges around the sides of the phone.

Apple is expected to introduce its new flagship lineup as soon as next month. This time, the images come courtesy of a case maker that’s preparing for this fall’s hardware.

New alleged images of the iPhone 12 design have been leaked online. The unofficial photos show us what could be the 5.4-inch, 6.1-inch, and 6.7-inch sizes of the iPhone 12 and Pro models may look like. And it resembles a lot like the old versions of the devices.

The iPhone 12 series

As reported by 9to5Mac, the iPhone 12 lineup is expected to consist of four devices across three different screen sizes. The smallest model is anticipated to be 5.4-inch size, two 6.1-inch models, and one 6.7-inch model. The 5.4-inch and one of the 6.1-inch models are expected to be the lower-end variants of the series. The other 6.1-inch model as well the 6.7-inch is expected to be the “Pro Max” variant models.

The same goes for the camera hardware on the back of the smartphones. The differentiating factor between this year’s smartphone will be camera technology, as the two lower-end models will feature a dual-camera setup. As expected, the iPhone 12 Pro lineup will feature a triple-lens design with a LiDAR Scanner on the back.

The iPhone 4 look alike

Today’s leaked images, which come via the Apple fan community in Israel HaAppelistim, offer yet another close-up look at the new flat-edge design for the upcoming Apple iPhone 12. A comparison of just how similar the new model is to the iPhone 4’s design is undeniable.

These latest images show us every variant of the iPhone 12 and the Pro models. These dummy units are used by case makers to create new accessories before the devices are launched, so they don’t show us as many details as possible. However, we can see that these new devices will have a similar design to the one found in the iPhone 4.

Apple is expected to announce the iPhone soon. However, it will most likely not take place during September, like in the past. The company has officially confirmed that this year’s iPhone launch could take place slightly later than usual, with rumors suggesting that it might launch in October.
