Sword and Shield only had three Legendary Pokemon when it first launched. However, with future updates, the list is growing larger.
A new trailer for Pokemon Sword and Shield’s DLC, Isle of Armor and Crown Tundra, featured new Legendary Pokemon, Galarian types, and Gigantamax forms.
Game Freak announced eight new Legendary Pokemon. Five are newcomers to the series, but three will be Galarian variants of the three Legendary birds from Generation 1.
Gigantamax Venusaur and Blastoise
The two other Generation 1 starters are receiving their Gigantamax forms to match that of Charizard. Based on the trailer, they will be joining the game via The Isle of Armor DLC.
Gigantamax Venausaur will have the exclusive Gmax move Vine Lash which will deal additional damage each turn if the opposing Pokemon is not a Grass-type.
On the other hand, Gigantamax Blastoise will get the Gmax Cannonade move, which deals devastating damage to non-water type enemies over four turns.
There are a few new information about the #PokemonSwordShield expansion pass with an official date for the #IsleOfArmor being June 17! 🗓🛡

Galarian Moltres, Zapdos and Articuno
The Galarian form of Moltres will be a Dark/Flying-type and will receive the exclusive Dark-type move, Fiery Wrath.
Galarian Articuno will be featured as a Psychic/Flying-type with a new signature Psychic-type move called Freezing Glare. Lastly, Galarian Zapdos will now be a Fighting/Flying-type with Thunderous Kick as its signature move.
Zarude
Zarude is a new Mythical Pokemon, which will debut on the Isle of Armor DLC. The Dark/Grass Pokemon looks like some form of a monkey and will not be captured via normal gameplay.
Fans in Japan had the limited opportunity to own it by pre-ordering tickets to the new Pokemon movie. Recently, the developers revealed that Zarude’s exclusive move is called Jungle Healing.
Regieleki and Regidrago
These two new Legendary Pokemon will be additions to the Regi family for the Frozen Tundra DLC. Regieleki will be featured as an Electric-type Pokemon with a special move called Thunder Cage.
On the other hand, Regidrago is a Dragon-type Legendary Pokemon with an exclusive move called Dragon Energy.
No other details were revealed about these new Legendary Pokemon but expect them to be as powerful as their Regi ancestors.
Kubfu
Kubfu can evolve into Urshifu, which will have two forms – Single Strike Style and Rapid Strike Style. This new Legendary Pokemon was revealed during January’s Nintendo Direct.
Players will be faced with deciding on which form Kubfu will take, which could revolutionize a new way of evolving Legendary Pokemon in the game.
