Given how popular the first season was with fans all around the globe, the second complete season of Koyoharu Gotouge’s Demon Slayer was one of the most eagerly awaited anime releases of the year.
Mugen Train, the anime’s first feature film, was even more popular, dominating the box office and leaving fans eager to see what the anime will accomplish next.
Surprisingly, the anime’s second season will once again start with the Mugen Train storyline. While the events of the feature film will be replayed, fans who have previously watched the film may expect fresh cuts of the sequences and brand new content unique to the TV anime.
Demon Slayer’s official Twitter account released a new poster for the arc to get fans excited for the Mugen Train arc’s re-debut next month with the second season, showing much of what fans may expect.
Season 2 of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba will premiere on October 10th with the Mugen Train storyline. Fans who have not watched the film will be able to jump right in after the first season, and those who have seen the movie need not be concerned.
According to reports, the first episode of the season will be all-new, focusing on Kyojuro Rengoku’s research before boarding the titular Mugen Train. Not only that but for the TV anime adaptation of the events, the sequences will be re-edited with new footage and soundtrack.
This will be the focus of the first several episodes of the anime, with Demon Slayer kicking off the Entertainment District arc in its entirety on December 5th.
This is the arc that follows the events of the Mugen Train film and this short recap for the TV anime, so those concerned about the recap can rest assured that we won’t be getting any fresh material for the adaptation for a long time.
