Amazon MMORPG New World is getting its latest update, which introduces a slew of fixes and an in-demand functionality.
Players who will be updating and playing New World with its latest patch could expect many positive changes with it. As any other update, many of the modifications will not be overt. But that is what makes changelog to be a very nifty accompaniment to any such alterations.
Official announcement
According to New World’s official announcement, the major highlight of the version 1.0.3 update is server transfers. Initially a feature that was planned to launch from the start, the developer chose to forego its implementation in favor of better gameplay. The decision may have come out badly considering the constraints the game suffered at launch. Yet, as the common adage implies, later might truly be better than never.
The ability to transfer characters between servers will not be immediately available even with the latest version, however. Playing it safe, Amazon is in the process of testing the waters first, given the probable precariousness involved in its implementation with data. As such, those in the Asia-Pacific Southeast region will be the first ones to check out and try the server transfers. However, once the operation went smoothly, the studio promises to deliver the same experience to its larger player base. More specifically, to users from other regions in the globe.
Patience is key
While the functionality is indeed a welcome one, there’s yet a hurdle the developer hadn’t addressed yet. That is, resolving the limitations of the game servers’ current setup. Meaning, players can expect to remain in queue just to play the game. But, as doing server transfers require the player having logged in, it also means being patient in the process.
Amazon, as it appears, is not too blind with the issue that players are experiencing with New World’s rocky start. As a means of appreciation, the studio is giving away an in-game title that depicts everyone’s praise-worthy patience. Somewhat fittingly enough, it is called “The Stoic,” which describes itself as “showed solid resolve in the face of epic wait times”.
But that alone is not what Amazon is giving away. Players who navigate their way into the in-game store will also notice a new addition among emotes. One that is also particularly free of charge to claim—the emote called “Waiting”. Albeit with an expression that isn’t synonymous to being indifferent in having to wait long queues to play New World.
