NIS’ ‘Prinny 1-2: Exploded and Reloaded’ to come to Switch in October

Nippon Ichi Software’s popular Disgaea character is making its way out of the PlayStation Portable as an exclusive title for more than a decade and into the Switch with the Prinny 1-2: Exploded and Reloaded.

With an October release window, the game is set for release in three timelines, depending on the region. North America will get the game first when it releases on October 13. It is then followed by a European launch on October 16. And, finally, in Australia on October 23, 2020.

Coinciding with the announcement, Nippon Ichi Software has released a video trailer showcasing Prinny: Can I Really Be the Hero?

A Two-in-One Package

Prinny 1-2: Exploded and Reloaded is a collection of the two Prinny games ever released on the PSP, along with additional contents. They are Prinny: Can I Really Be the Hero? and Prinny 2: Dawn of Operation Panties, Dood!, respectively.

In the first Prinny title, players take on the role of 1000 Prinnies as they do Etna’s bidding to create the Ultra Dessert. Each stage completed lets the Prinny gather an ingredient for the legendary snack. On top of this, there is a second storyline to the first Prinny game involving Asagi, who aspires to become a star in-game.

Prinny 2 brings along the same humor found in the franchise. This time, involving the task of finding Etna’s missing undergarments, which were stolen by a certain Phantom Thief. Also, with the goal of punishing the culprit if caught. Similar to the first game, Asagi makes a return to Prinny 2, adhering to the same goal as she had previously.

Plus More

More than just a compilation of the only two games based on Prinny, Exploded and Reloaded is also a remaster. It makes the game appear in all its original glory, including all DLCs, while having new content to offer.

Although the game is slated solely as a port to the Switch, there’s a possibility that the game might make it to PC. However, for this to happen will also be heavily dependent on sales.

Base Game and Freebies Edition

Consumers can just wait on the game’s release on retail to experience the game on its standard presentation. But consumers who choose to preorder the “Just Desserts Edition” are in for a treat than just the game.

The Just Desserts Edition will come bundled with an exclusive artbook, an OST (“Awesome Mix”), a poster, and a nanoblock figurine.
