Noel, Gummy, and EXID’s Solji cancel plans for in-live performances

Many agencies and several artists, including Noel, Gummy, and EXID’s Solji, canceled their year-end plans for offline and in-person performance concerts and events due to the COVID-19 threat.

On December 7, with the rising wave of confirmed cases in South Korea for COVID-19, C-JeS Entertainment declared concert cancellations.

It includes Noel, EXID’s Solji, and Gummy’s performance concerts that were supposed to happen throughout the nation.

South Korea’s entertainment industry is stunned

The Seoul concert cancellation results from the capital area raising its social distancing restrictions.

The said restriction is now on a level that bans significant events with more than 50 persons, to Level 2.5.

The concerts planned to take place in Gwangju, Busan, Daegu, Jeonju, Seongnam, Changwon also canceled its event.

This is to comply with each region’s local restrictions. People who bought tickets will have their refunds.

Baek Ji Young canceled her plans. She should have national tour concerts in Gwangju, Busan, Seoul, Ilsan, and Seongnam.

Her agency said that their shows always follow the strict guidelines about infection transmission.

Due to the community spread increase in the region, they decided to cancel the concert as it would be the safest thing.

Other artists and labels who moved their schedules

Kim Na Young also cancels her planned concert on December 25 and 26 due to the increased social distancing restrictions.

Big Hit Label’s 2021 New Year’s Eve Live concert is initially both an online and offline event, but it will now be online due to the COVID-19 threat.

Previously, the Big Hit Entertainment announced the conduct of a joint performance on New Year’s Eve by Weverse, and for the first time, will feature all the artists under the label and its affiliates.

However, the agency eventually canceled the offline event on December 7. This is due to the rapid spread of COVID-19 cases, resulting in an increase in the social distancing stage in South Korea.

Moreover, trot artist Na Hoon Ah, Ailee, and Lee Seung Chul also canceled their year-end concert plans.
