HMD recently confirms that it had successfully acquire the patent for its upcoming Nokia 8.3 5G, revealing its design, color, and some features.
Though not as big as it was, Nokia is still present in the smartphone industry. The company continues to release new smartphone models, although not on a grand scale as it was during its prime. The Nokia 8.3 5G is its latest offering.
The company is planning to release its newest model, the Nokia 8.3 5G. The company made a significant shift of design since the release of the Nokia 6. It appears that Nokia plans to keep that tradition with its upcoming release.
Nokia 8.3 5G specs, features
Just like some previous iterations of the series, the Nokia 8.3 5G retains the sturdy case design. Critics and users alike praise Nokia for this particular design concept.
However, there are some minor changes in the design. For one, the upcoming phone will sport a notch on its front panel. While this is common nowadays in many flagship smartphones, Nokia’s design looks awkward.
Another interesting revelation is the color options. When the phone made its debut, it is only available in one color: Polar Night. If the recent patents hold some truth to it, Nokia might opt to release a second color option: Green.
What makes it special
The Nokia 8.3 5G is the first phone in Nokia’s arsenal to support 5G technology. As such, the phone is an important shift from current communications technology.

Under the hood, it has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 756G chipset. It terms of memory, it comes in two options: 6GB or 8GB LPDDR4x. It runs on Android 10 right out of the box.
Storage comes in two options, either 64 or 128GB. The presence of the microSD slot is a welcome addition. It gives users an option to further expand their storage.
On the display side, it has a 6.81-inch Full HD+ with PureDisplay panel. The screen has a 20:9 screen ration.
On the camera side, the phone comes fully loaded. It has rear-facing quad-camera setup with 64-megapixel, 12-megapixel ultra-wide, 2-megapixel depth, and 2-megapixel macro lens. On the front, it sports a 24-megapixel sensor.
The phone supports USB Type-C for charging and data transfer. It also has a 4500mAh battery pack.
The Nokia 8.3 5G is not yet available for a full release, and it should hit the stores sometime this summer. Nevertheless, the phone is currently available for pre-purchase in a number of online selling platforms.
