Nokia 9.3 PureView set to feature Snapdragon 865 SoC and 120Hz display refresh rate

HMD Global’s upcoming PureView iteration could be a harder-hitting flagship with its premium specifications such as Qualcomm’s latest top-tier offering and a high-profile display refresh rate.

The world was not exactly kind when HMD Global released the Nokia 9 PureView. Despite the phone’s attention-grabbing Penta-camera setup on its rear; alongside some key display and hardware features, the industry didn’t go gaga over the phone.

A Gold Mine

With its upcoming Nokia 9.3 PureView, the Finnish company might just be sitting on a gold mine now. According to the latest rumor, the forthcoming Nokia flagship smartphone could be joining the high refresh rate league, right with a 120Hz screen.

And although the speculation didn’t reveal whether the phone would launch with an OLED or LCD, the Nokia 9.3 PureView could likely go with the former as its predecessor boasted a P-OLED display at the time of its launch.

A Conventional Camera Setup

Another batch of rumors also points that the Nokia 9.3 PureView is also likely to debut with a different camera setup on its rear. Instead of employing simultaneously-firing cameras, the phone is tipped to feature a conventional system, one that is headlined by a 108MP Samsung-backed primary camera, and possibly a 64MP sensor, which could very well debut as a zoom camera.

Additionally, one of the Nokia 9.3 PureView cameras in the rear camera setup could support an optical image stabilization (OIS).

Qualcomm’s Latest Chip

For its internals, the Nokia 9.3 PureView is expected to launch with Qualcomm’s current flagship chipset, the Snapdragon 865 chipset. Rumor has it that Nokia meant to announce it with a Snapdragon 855+ SoC inside but ultimately decided against it in favor of the newest one. Consequently, this is mostly the reason why the phone’s launch is delayed.

Nokia’s Second Coming?

Now that the Nokia 9.3 PureView is already starting to form its shape, it would be interesting to see how HMD Global will manage the phone relative to its marketing strategies. One probably way that could surely place the phone at the helm of the list commercially is by arming the device with just about the right price, one that is severely lacking when the Nokia 9 PureView was introduced in the market.

An attractive price combined with an almost surefire set of winning features could finally catapult Nokia in the flagship segment.

Could we be seeing Nokia’s second coming in the following months? One can only wait and witness.
