The first-ever NFT comedy event called ’Non-Fungible Jokin’ will finally launch this month.
The event’s live taping will take place on Dynasty Typewriter on July 30 and 31.
Dynasty Typewriter is arguably the most iconic comedy venue in Los Angeles and has already received recognition from some of the biggest publications in the country.
The New York Times calls it “LA’s comedy clubhouse” while LA Weekly praised it as the “best-alt comedy venue” in Los Angeles.
Expect a terrific show, no jokin’
The NFT comedy event is expected to be attended by stars such as Brooks Wheelan, Adam Ray, Ian Edwards, Moses Storm, Beth Stelling and Maria Bamford.
The NFT side of things will be handled by “Jambb,” an NFT marketplace that mainly focuses on comedy and entertainment. Jambb will host the NFT auction part of the comedy event.
Along with Jambb, the other blockchain-related part will be handled by Moonbeam Network and Moonriver. These blockchain experts will ensure that the technical parts of the event will run as smoothly as possible.
Artist-first approach
Brandon Henderson, the show’s event producer, said that he looks forward to the upcoming comedy show. He also said that some of the clips in the show would be carefully selected and turned into NFTs.
One other thing he shared is that artists would not be the last priority when it comes to earnings, which is “quite the tradition” in the entertainment industry.
According to Henderson, artists will certainly get earnings from the gross profits of the show.
The event producer praised this new kind of approach because through this, especially in the payment aspect, artists are given a new level of importance and much-deserved pay and incentives.
