The upcoming 5G-enabled smartphone is also slated to feature a quadruple-camera setup on its rear that is headlined by a 48MP Sony primary shooter.
Ahead of its imminent launch on April 21, a set of leaks and confirmations about the Nubia Play are now making rounds online.
Nubia Play’s outline and retail box
At the helm of these developments is the Nubia Play’s essential design. Nubia itself teased the retail box of the phone, alongside the outline of the device. As it is, the overall design of the handset is already taking its shape.
As for its back-panel design, the Nubia Play is purported to feature a camera setup that is aligned vertically at the center of its rear. Additionally, the phone is seen to sport curved edges. It can also be deduced from the outline that the phone might also arrive with an in-display fingerprint scanner as it doesn’t appear to feature a cutout for the fingerprint reader.
Meanwhile, the Nubia Play’s retail box is as gaming-oriented as it would like it to be. It features a “Be Yourself” caption, plus the “5G” wording, which indicates that the phone will arrive with such connectivity support.
A massive battery
Nubia CEO Ni Fei also revealed that Nubia Play’s battery offerings. Accordingly, the phone is slated to boast a battery capacity of 5,100mAh. Fei added that the handset is also en route to support up to 30W fast charging with USB-PD, which is said to be compatible with Quick Charge 4.0.
Fei’s revelation also comes with a poster which showed another hint at the Nubia Play’s rear camera setup. In it, three cameras can be seen. Subsequently, it was Fei again who revealed the upcoming gaming phone’s camera specifications.
Thru China’s social media platform Weibo, Fei let out a set of clues which outed that the Nubia Play could come with a quad-camera system which is to be headlined by a 48MP Sony primary shooter, also believed to be the Japanese tech giant’s IMX586. Also, a 12MP selfie camera could launch with the device.
Apart from these hints, image samples from the camera sensors of the Nubia Play were also retrieved. These essentially confirm that the forthcoming phone will also be a mobile camera beast.
The Nubia Play is also tipped to come with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 765G chipset. Expect some of the phone’s mysterious features to get confirmed anytime soon as we’re already nearing its official launch
