The shortage of the supply of the Nvidia GeForce RTX 30 series may continue until 2022 if the current trend of purchases persists.
Last September 2020, Nvidia released what could have been the most raved about graphics card in years. It was so well-loved that as soon as the products hit the shelves, they sold out. Back then, the immediate sell-out was no issue as customers expected this to happen.
Unfortunately, the problem persists up to now. To add more insult to injury, the shortage issue could last until the year ends.
Nvidia GeForce RTX 30 series shortage may last till 2022
The roll-out of the 30 series graphics card from Nvidia has been a bane for customers that have been waiting in line. Considering that the graphics units were announced last September, there are still people waiting in to buy their own units.
The issue of the shortage has been well documented around the world, but the reason for it has been scarce. Yes, Nvidia has already apologized for the poor supply management of the latest graphics unit. However, this doesn’t seem to sit well with customers who are still left in the dark as to why they have to wait so long.
According to some reports, some suppliers of Nvidia are allegedly cramming their production just to keep up with the orders of Nvidia. The most famous among these is Samsung’s trouble in providing the graphics circuits of the 30 series.
Unfortunately for many, there still seems to be no end in sight. Some reports indicate that stocks will go on sale during the third quarter of 2021. However, that has to be taken with a grain of salt as that restock could vanish quickly with the long waiting line.
Should shelves run out of the 30 series again, the same problem could persist until 2022.
Some could just wait for the 40 series
While many have been patient in trying to land their own 30 series GPU, some have already given up on the fight. In fact, they are going to sit out from scavenging for their own units. Instead, they are just going to try and enjoy what they currently have while waiting for the 40 series to come up.
Unfortunately for them, sitting out from this 30 series hunt will not guarantee them their desired 40 series graphics card. In fact, they could just end up suffering through the same shortage issue since there really is no end in sight for the supply problems.
The next Nvidia graphics unit series could allegedly release anytime between 2021 and 2022. The architecture behind the graphics unit could be called Ada, which is an homage to one of the most important figures in computing history.
