A recent leak reveals a powerful new video card from Nvidia. The GeForce RTX 3080 Ti packs so much graphic performance that it got the community excited.
In terms of performance, the Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080 Ti is rumored to deliver up to 21TFLOPS. This is 50% more power compared to the current GeForce RTX 2080 Ti.
The leak came from CatCyberPunk, a notable tipster in the tech community. Based on the leak, the upcoming video card will have 5376 CUDA cores.
Breaking records
Nvidia is expected to break new records with its upcoming video card. It shows a lot of promise and without a doubt will certainly be premium hardware. Not much is known about the video card, so the community is relying much on tipsters and leakers.
The recent leak reveals that the GeForce RTX 3080 Ti will have a core clock speed of 2.2GHz. The GPU is also expected to use the new Ampere architecture from Nvidia. In terms of performance, that is better compared to the current Turing architecture that tops at 2.1GHz.
#Nvidia’s next-gen graphics cards 7nm tech spec & potential performance details have been pretty thin… RTX #3080 & #3080Ti GPUs could be up to 50% faster than Nvidia’s existing Turing cards and will offer a major performance jump with ray tracing.https://t.co/j5OWfqwfNW

While this information is interesting, some tech publications suggest to take it with a grain of salt. According to notable tech publication WCCFTech, almost everything from the leak does not add up. The publication noted that there are several discrepancies with the leak, including typo errors.
WCCFTech also claims that if the video card tops at 21TFLOPS, its boost clock speed should be around 1953MHz.
AMD’s biggest challenger
As of this writing, AMD’s Navi architecture leads the pack by just a hairline. Nevertheless, the company is already working its successor that is Big Navi. If all rumors are true, then Big Navi will no doubt face Nvidia’s Ampere architecture head-to-head.
Not much is known about these two architectures. What is certain is that they will bring much needed compute upgrades to their respective products. However, if these recent leaks have any semblance of truth, then AMD is facing a significant challenge.
Several performance benchmarks have already leaked, and it appears that Nvidia has the upper hand. However, as noted by WCCFTech, these leaks should be taken with a grain of salt and must be verified.
Both AMD and Nvidia are expected to release their new video card lineups very soon. Based on community response, the Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080 Ti is on top of everybody’s list. However, AMD will not easily give up without giving Nvidia a good fight.
