Last September 17, Nvidia released the RTX 3080 to the market. The launch was lackluster and Nvidia apologized for it. However, the company has not learned its lesson and the Nvidia RTX 3090 launch is another failure.
The disappointment does not come from the card’s performance. Stock availability is to blame once again.
Nvidia is supposedly opening the RTX 3090 orders online at 6 a.m. PST. However, it is impossible to check out the card.
Refreshing the webpage in hopes of grabbing the card is an option. However, users are met with the “Out of Stock” page.
The “Add to Cart” button popped up minutes after the launch. But that is just about it. Once the card is on the cart, the Nvidia webpage is stuck. It goes back to the “Out of Stock” page not long after.
According to Nvidia, the botched RTX 3080 launch is caused by the massive traffic entering the website. The company was not expecting the demand for the graphics card to be that huge.
However, the company seems to have not learned from its mistake.
Just like the RTX 3080 launch, unsatisfied PC gamers shared their experience on social media.
The Nvidia RTX 3090 and the RTX 3080 are probably the most powerful cards today. But if the products are out of stock for several weeks, then the AMD Big Navi cards might be worth waiting for.
