It appears that the upcoming Nvidia RTX 3090 video card, with its impressive specs, also packs quite a high price tag.
Recent rumors suggest that the flagship Nvidia RTX 3090 will hit the market with an estimated price tag of US$2,000. Although the video card is targeted for the premium market, that is still a steep price for a single card. Several leaks suggest that the card is indeed powerful, but it is still unproven if it deserves that price tag.
Considering this recent leak, AMD should be quite confident with the upcoming release from Nvidia. Recent leaks suggest that the new RTX card bests the top graphics card in AMD’s arsenal. However, with that steep price tag, it will put AMD in a rather sweet spot.
The perfect blend of specs and price
In recent years, AMD has built its lineup of graphics cards over excellent specs and aggressive pricing. The company has attracted quite an impressive chunk of the market because of this strategy. It has also prompted its competitors to rethink their pricing schemes.

The RTX 3090 is branded as consumer graphics cards aimed for the top-tier of the market. Regardless, considering the rumor, it will be one of the most expensive pieces of consumer hardware to hit the market.
The current flagship in Nvidia’s lineup is the RTX 2080 Ti. This video card costs $1,199, and it is one of the best graphics cards currently available in the market. If the recent rumor is true, its successor will be twice its price.
Competitive market
With a price tag of $2,000, the upcoming RTX 3090 will put it at the same price point as the RTX Titan. The RTX Titan is a piece of hardware aimed towards professionals, hence its $2,499 price tag. The graphics card is also great at handling games at 8K resolution, but overkill in normal gaming.
There are a couple of interesting side notes that can justify the $2,000 price tag of the upcoming Nvidia flagship. For one, the card is expected to have a 12GB GDDR6X memory, which is insanely fast. Another leak suggests that it will have a massive 24GB of video memory.
If the Nvidia RTX 3090 does pack these impressive hardware specs, it will be in a completely different price point. The graphics card can indeed be a viable alternative to the RTX Titan. Nvidia is planning to launch its new series of video cards on September 1.
