The page says that it will offer “official tools and resources that will help you modify and create your own experiences in the world of Cyberpunk 2077.”
Currently, all the new modding tools are limited when it comes to making extreme changes. Developer CDPR said that it would continuously update the tools alongside the game patches. Thus, it will ensure proper compatibility.
Most importantly, CD Projekt Red also encouraged the users to read the license agreement before opting for modding tools. It will make sure that the players have understood the use of third-party software about the developer’s own Cyberpunk 2077 creations.
However, one thing is surely going to happen from now on. And that’s the improvisation process by different gamers. Like many “AAA” titles with modding options, Cyberpunk 2077 will also enable the players to do that. Although CDPR has just released the tools, the modding community has been working on various mods since its launch.
Speaking of some of the great mods so far, one of them is very amazing to try. It adds the smoggy atmosphere of Blade Runner to Night City. However, the much anticipated third-person mod is still not ready. However, a version of it is out already; it’s not working as expected and is rather disappointing. Fans are hoping for an official third-person view in the game’s settings itself. CDPR should do it, as it’s not that hard for the developers because Cyberpunk is full of great costume options. But due to the first-person perspective, one cannot see his/her character’s appearance in the main gameplay. It can be done only in the settings or when the character is in a washroom with a mirror!
It’s been a rough ride for CDPR so far since it first announced the highly awaited game of 2020, way back in 2013. And after the launch in December, the controversy of performance issues added to the angst of players. They hoped for a smooth, little to no lag experience since the game took so long already during its making.
Despite all these hurdles and angry reactions on social media, everything seems to be gradually settling down. But still, there’s a lot for CD Projekt Red to improve on Cyberpunk 2077. It’s far from a completely stable game at the moment. Only the PC version is doing good, compared to the PS4 or PS5 releases. Several patches and bug fixes will continue to arrive to provide a better experience in the coming months.
