And The Falcon and the Winter Soldier will take place before the events of Spider-Man: Far From Home. Director Kari Skogland confirmed it in a recent media interaction.
The Disney+ series stars Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan in lead roles.
Interestingly, also set the recently concluded WandaVision TV show’s timeline before Far From Home! In simple words, it took place just a month after everyone began to return from the Blip, following Avengers: Endgame.
Back to The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, its story will take place around six months after the Blip. And two months before the Spider-Man sequel.
Director Kari Skogland, while talking to Collider, confirmed the news and (indirectly) cleared several doubts. He mentioned the Blip and how it affected everyone in the MCU.
“Everything narratively was informed by that event for us,” he said.
“It meant that we’re just past the shock of it. We’re just past the joy of it — because we’re imagining that there would be a lot of joy in people returning. Now we’re into the reality of it, which is complicated.”
Moreover, the initial idea of keeping the timeline period of six months for The Falcon and the Winter Soldier was the leading writer Malcolm Spellman.
He also said that the objective was to create “heroes of the moment who can lead us into the future.”
Meanwhile, there’s not just a tiny bunch of Marvel projects lined-up at the moment because the releasing streak will soon return to its original speed with multiple reveals.
Due to the pandemic, it faced a massive delay of more than a year. However, WandaVision brought back the smile on the faces of die-hard MCU fans earlier this year.
Now, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier is almost here to woo the viewers for the next month and a half. The Disney+ TV show will bring back Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan in Sam and Bucky’s characters.
Speaking of future entries after TFATWS, then the slate looks damn promising!
In June, Tom Hiddleston-starrer Loki will make its debut on Disney’s streaming platform. Other anticipated titles to arrive soon are Ms. Marvel, Moon Knight, Secret Invasion, She-Hulk, and What If…?.
