Olivia Jade defended her mother Lori Loughlin from the line the Gossip Girl’s first episode aired.
For months, Olivia Jade experienced media scrutiny after her mother, Lori, and father, Mossimo Giannulli, got involved in a college admission scandal. The couple, reportedly, paid William Singer to help her and her sister get into the University of Southern California.
Their admission was surely a scam since neither of them ever participated in the crew team’s sport.
While the issue seemingly went a little quiet now, the first episode of Gossip Girl on HBO Max reignite it again.
Halfway through the episode, the characters tackled topics about losing. The other one said that “losing is bad for business.”
“And everything will be fine so long as you win. Olivia Jade gained followers when her mom went to jail,” another added.
This caused Olivia Jade to share the scene on her TikTok and slammed the show for the disgusting scene.
She seemingly shut down the claim that having her parents admitted behind bars brought good effects to her. E! News also said that her Instagram followers remained unaffected by the scandal. However, her YouTube subscribers fell to 1.8 million from 2 million.
At that time, her brand became toxic at that time that she lost a lot of business deals.
What Happened to Lori, Mossimo
Last year, both Lori and Mossimo pleaded guilty to charges after paying Singer half a million dollar.
The actress entered the Federal Correctional Institution in Dublin, California, as part of her two-month sentence. The judge pushed her and her husband to surrender themselves before Nov. 19, 2020, but she chose to enter earlier.
Before admitting herself, she hired a prison expert and trained herself mentally, physically, and emotionally.
“Prison is going to be sink or swim and Lori doesn’t intend to sit back and take the abuse without a fight,” Radar Online’s source reported.
When she pleaded guilty, she revealed during a Zoom appearance that she regretted her shameless actions. Lori also said she is sorry while trying to contain her tears.
“I have great faith in God, and I believe in redemption and I will do everything in my power to redeem myself and use this experience as a catalyst to do good,” she went on.
As of the writing, both Lori and Mossimo already finished their sentences and currently taking vacations together.
