Lori Loughlin has finally reported to her requested federal prison in Northern California last Friday, where she will be serving her two-month sentence.
Now, Olivia Jade Giannuili is staying strong for her mom Lori Loughlin, who just went to prison for paying $500,000 in bribes to get her and her sister, Isabella Rose, into the University of Southern California.
According to Hollywood Life, the 21-year-old will find the upcoming holidays extremely difficult, but thankfully, she has a great support system, including her 24-year-old boyfriend, Jackson Guthy.
An insider told the outlet, “Olivia’s staying strong for the sake of her parents because she doesn’t want this to be any harder on them than it has to be.”
They added, “It’s obviously very hard for all of them, but they are getting through it as a family.”
The YouTuber, reportedly, spent a lot of her time with her family and been there to support her parents while they prepare for their prison times.
“Her boyfriend has been there for her too. He’s been her rock for her, and she’s so grateful she will have him to lean on while her parents are away.”
Another source told E! News that Olivia and Bella were there to say goodbye before their mom headed off.
The parents and their two kids, reportedly, were distraught, but the kids knew it was coming and had the time to prepare.
“Both Olivia and Bella are very distraught over it,” the source revealed. However, they are grateful that their mom only gets two months.
Prison time for Lori Loughlin
On Friday, Lori Loughlin surrendered herself to the Federal Correctional Institution in Dublin, California. It is about 40 miles east of San Francisco.
Her original start date was supposed to be on Nov. 19.
Because of the coronavirus pandemic, the prison isn’t allowing any visitors inside.
Aside from pleading guilty in August, Lori Loughlin will also be serving two years of supervised release, where she is required to perform 100 hours of community service.
The former Fuller House star is also mandated to pay $150,000, per the US Attorney for the District of Massachusetts.
But it isn’t just Lori who’s going to prison. Her husband, Mossimo Giannulli, received five months of prison sentence and must pay a $250,000 fine. Like Lori Loughlin, Mossimo was ordered to surrender himself to the US Bureau of Prisons on Nov. 19.
Cheating admission scandals
Lori Loughlin and Giannulli played a massive role in the college admissions cheating scandals.
The former Hollywood star and her fashion-designer husband paid $500,000 to falsely designate Olivia and Bella as recruits to the USC crew time, despite neither of them was a rower.
The doting parents even went as far as to pose the students on rowing machines to look nice for their college admissions application.
Lori and Mossimo are just two of the 57 people who have been charged in the college cheating scandal, known as Operation Varsity Blues.
