The Straw Hats have come a long way in the last 20 years, as evidenced by One Piece‘s special video.
While One Piece recently celebrated its 20th anniversary, Eiichiro Oda’s original manga recently reached 1000 pages, signaling that it is ready for a new era.
Luffy and the Straw Hats will now travel to Onigashima to fight Kaido, Big Mom, and Orochi, who are banding together to safeguard Wano’s future. Before they did so, the Straw Hats had a brief pause.
A memory brought back through a video
Before making their way to Onigashima, the Straw Hats collaborated to defeat the first Garrison of Beasts Pirates forces on the island’s outskirts. They went there to get some booze and to welcome Jinbe to the group. The start of the samurai force’s charge, however, cut them off.

Megumi Ishitani, a well-known fan director, directed the episode. For the first time in many years, it featured Luffy and the other Straw Hats moving at their own paces and being together. There was also a sense of anticipation. Luffy and his friends finally left the shores of Wano Country to make their way to Onigashima, where they would fight the final battle of the arc in Episode 982.
The friendship has come a long way
They were all ecstatic to learn that Jinbe would be joining their team. They wanted to raise a glass to him. Luffy decides that now is not the time to fight and vows to join everyone in celebrating when Kaido defeats Wano. On the other hand, the Straw Hats all agree with Luffy and make great vows of their own.
This scene demonstrates the crew’s and fans’ mutual trust, as well as how far the series has progressed over its two-decade run. But, what did you think of the Straw Hat scene?
