OnePlus Buds revealed, a really good one

OnePlus Buds design, specs, battery life, and other essential details confirmed ahead of July 21 official launch.

Besides confirming the name, OnePlus didn’t mention any more information about the upcoming earbuds. Whether they’ll feature active noise cancellation or the like and what kind of battery life we can expect is still unknown.

However, OnePlus has produced some surprisingly good headphones in the past. That’s why we can expect an excellent Bluetooth pair of earbuds to come.

As reported by The Verge, a couple of true wireless earbuds from OnePlus have been around for months, and their design is Apple Airpods inspired. If the company can keep up this kind of accessory while entirely ditching the wires, then it could have another great pair of headphones on its hands.

OnePlus CEO Pete Lau also confirmed that the true wireless earphones would deliver over seven hours of battery life on a single charge.

The charging case, which is part of the package when you purchase the headset, can fully top up the OnePlus Buds more than three times. This great feature gives you a total of 30 hours of battery life. Amazing!

Lau even revealed that each wireless earbud weighs about 4.6 grams (0.16 ounces) while the charging case weights 36 grams (1.26 ounces). OnePlus has also shared an image of the upcoming Buds and has confirmed the product will have a “half-in-ear” design.

The brand also claims that it refined the shape of the OnePlus Buds so that they “sit securely in most people’s ears.” That means they shouldn’t come loose, but OnePlus doesn’t say if it will provide any tips or if the standard design is just what you get.

Other OnePlus gadgets coming

OnePlus will reveal its first pair of true wireless earbuds on July 21. The headphones will be shown alongside OnePlus Nord, the company’s new “more affordable” smartphone entrants.

OnePlus Nord is expected to cost under the equivalent of $500. The smartphone will be powered by a Snapdragon 765G processor and will feature an ultrawide selfie camera like the Pixel 3.

Carl Pei, a co-founder of OnePlus, revealed the design of OnePlus Nord, during a video interview. The interview highlighted the assessment process behind the upcoming Nord design and gave a brief look at the device.

Nord is due to be announced on July 21 at the company’s augmented reality launch event. OnePlus says you’ll be able to use its app to view the launch event in augmented reality at 3 PM BST / 10 AM ET / 7 AM PT.
