The OnePlus Clover is tipped to trump the Nord and the new iPhone SE, right with a shockingly low price and a battery capacity that is just too great in its price range.
OnePlus is, allegedly, planning to release yet another smartphone entry under its newly-established “budget” portfolio. According to a report from Android Central, the Chinese smartphone giant is en route to introduce an entry-level handset codenamed “Clover.” The phone was previously christened as the OnePlus Nord Lite.
6.52-inch LCD with rear triple cameras
Citing an anonymous “insider source,” the OnePlus Clover is said to arrive with a 6.52-inch IPS LCD panel with a resolution of 720 x 1,560 pixels. The source didn’t reveal whether the phone’s display would arrive with a high refresh rate; this is to be expected with its speculated price. But more on that later.
On its rear, the Clover is also pegged to sport a triple-camera setup, headlined by a 13-megapixel sensor with f/2.2 aperture; auxiliary sensors are two 2MP lenses, with an aperture of f/2.4. The back panel of the device will also be home to a fingerprint reader. The handset’s front-facing camera offerings are still up in the air.
Snapdragon 460 with 6,000mAh battery
Under the hood, the OnePlus Clover is set to be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 460 system-on-a-chip, coupled with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. Though not revealed by the source, the latter is expected to be expandable via the phone’s microSD card slot.
Perhaps the ultimate highlight of the Clover device is its battery offering. Accordingly, the phone is likely to work on a massive 6,000mAh battery capacity, with support for 18W fast wired charging. Android Central noted that with the phone’s 720p display and Snapdragon 460 chip, the phone should last for two days.
Other key features that might debut with the OnePlus Clover are a 3.5mm headphone jack and the latest Bluetooth variety. The device is also pegged to ship with OxygenOS 10, based on Android 10.
A staggeringly low price in OnePlus standards
Certainly not the least shocking of its features is the Clover’s pricing. The device is estimated to cost USD 200, which sets it apart easily from the OnePlus Nord and the new iPhone SE. Well, in the entry-level segment, anyway.
The OnePlus Clover is also expected to become available globally. The upcoming, budget-friendly phone from OnePlus is, reportedly, headed to launch later this year.
